What are the legislative requirements?

Under the Work Health and Safety Regulation and AS/NZS 1269.4, employers must conduct baseline and periodic hearing assessments for workers exposed to hazardous noise. Early detection of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) is essential in preventing long-term damage and ensuring controls remain effective.
